Launch

We are excited to come out of the shadows and launch Akima Charity to the public.
Akima was founded in 2024, by a international psychotherapist who has both lived and professional experience with loss due to knife crime, having a family member take a life, grooming, mental health, teenage parenting, supporting vulnerable young people and ADHD.
Coming from the streets of London our founder is committed to making a difference and has sought entrusted professional therapeutic trustees who are dedicated and committed to the Akima mission!

Omari's Run for Akima
We are proud to share that Omari, one of Akima’s youth ambassadors, will be taking on the Vitality 10K run on Sunday 28th September in support of Akima’s mission. At just 17 years old, Omari is stepping forward not only to challenge himself, but to raise awareness of the urgent need for trauma aftercare and healing spaces for young people impacted by violence, loss, and exploitation.
This run is more than a race — it’s a statement of resilience, unity, and hope. 💛
We are so grateful to Omari for representing Akima with courage and determination. Let’s come together to support him on this journey and cheer him on every step of the way.
Donate today and help Omari raise vital funds for Akima Charity.
Collaborations

We’re proud to share that Akima is now part of Brent’s Young Adult Mental Health and Wellbeing Partnership.
This partnership brings together organisations across Brent to improve mental health and wellbeing support for young adults. Being part of this collective means Akima can extend our trauma aftercare and therapeutic interventions to even more young people, ensuring their voices are heard and their needs are met.
Together, we’re building stronger pathways of support and creating safer spaces for young people to heal and thrive.
Mental Health

Akima is now accepting referrals for young people aged 16–25.
Our trauma aftercare and therapeutic interventions are designed for those navigating grief, violence, exploitation, or the weight of life’s challenges.
Whether you’re a parent, professional, or a young person referring yourself, we provide safe, non-judgemental spaces where healing and growth can begin.
Start the process today and let’s take the next step together.

A very special tribute to our beloved Rowan. Rowan Thomas- Williams who's senseless murder impacted and continues to impact the lives of many.
At the tender age of 20 years old and a new father, Rowan was tragically shot in 2013, in Michellbrook estate in Northwest London as he tried to defuse a confrontation between 2 men. No one was ever charged with his murder and his murder remains unsolved.
We appeal to anyone who may have information to come forward, you can provide information anonymously by clicking here or calling crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
Our hearts go out to all who have had a loved one murdered! .
